"I just think that movie was in a different era. Now everything’s gone so digital."
Sad news for fans of 'The Devil Wears Prada'. The movie's lead actress, Anne Hathaway, says the possibility of a sequel is highly unlikely.
Speaking to the ladies of 'The View', the 39-year-old Academy Award winner says she doesn't know if there can be a sequel to the iconic 2006 film.
"I just think that movie was in a different era. Now everything’s gone so digital and that movie is centered around the concept of producing a physical thing and it’s just, it’s just very different now," she said.
Anne plays an aspiring journalist named Andy in the film. Her character gets a job as a personal assistant at a leading fashion magazine. Critically acclaimed actress Meryl Streep also appears in the film as Runway editor-in-chief, Miranda Priestly.
Anne told the 'The View' hosts, which includes Whoopi Goldberg, she loved playing the part and it is tempting to want to do a sequel.
"Althought it is tempting to think about Andy and Emily needing to get Miranda her coffee and she’s somewhere in Europe. And then along the way they pick up Stanley Tucci in Italy, who’s at a restaurant. It’s tempting but I don’t think it’s going to happen."
She does, however, believe that the movie can be relaunched with a whole new cast.

Anne stopped by the show to talk about her new movie, 'Armageddon Time', which stars Sir Anthony Hopkins, Jeremy Strong, and Jessica Chastain.
The actress says there are many things that drew her to the coming-of-age drama film.
"James Gray, the director, that was a huge draw for me. And my character, Esther, I was really interested in her contractions. She loves her family, and she loves her sons, but her life is not without stress. Money is tight, her dreams aren't coming true. She has these aspirations, she's not reaching them and she's got a short fuse."
