Amanda du-Pont and Shawn Rodriques finalise divorce

Amanda du-Pont and her husband Shawn Rodriques have officially gone their separate ways. According to TshisaLIVE, the couple finalised their divorce last week. 

Amanda has been notoriously private about her love life and only shared a few pictures of Shawn on social media over the years. 

The couple started dating in 2015 and got engaged during a romantic getaway to the Maldives in July 2018.  

"I SAID YES!!???? Turns out my surprise beach picnic was @shawnrodriques epic proposal???? My darling you sweep me off my feet every single time but this time you had me crying!” the actress captioned a video of the sweet proposal on Instagram. 

"I said yes to the man I prayed for so specifically, everything you are, is everything I asked. Life isn’t perfect, but perfect with you in it. I love loving you, so thrilled to be your fiancée, Thank you God," she added.

Amanda and Shawn secretly tied the knot and their union only came to light when she paid tribute to her late grandmother in June 2020. 

"She promised to wait until I was married before she passed. Over the last couple of years, she would hint that she was getting tired. I’m married granny and I’m ok, hope you are too," the former 'Little Big Mouth' star wrote.

But rumours started to swirl in 2022 that they had gone their separate ways. They did not address the rumours and Amanda was still pictured wearing her wedding ring in October.

Shawn defended his wife in 2021 after her ex-boyfriend, Molemo ‘Jub Jub’ Maarohanye, talked about their relationship on 'Podcast & Chill With Mac G'. He bragged about "smashing" her and Kelly Khumalo. 

Amanda hit back at the distasteful interview, accusing Jub Jub of raping her. 

“There are three things that I want to address. The first was that he smashed me. First of all, Molemo you raped me. I was raped for two years. So,  please don’t make it sound like it was a relationship. I was absolutely afraid to leave,” the 34-year-old said in a video she shared on Instagram. 

Shawn called Jub Jub a pig. "I can't wait until you f***ing burn in hell," he wrote on his Instagram Story.

It's unclear when the once-happy couple called it quits.
