Just over 37k jabs administered on Vooma vaccination weekend

South Africa has administered 37 267 vaccines on the last day of the government’s second Vooma Vaccination weekend.
The vaccines administered were three times higher than the previous Sunday - which was 10 930 doses.
On the first Vooma Vaccination Sunday, the Department of Health succeeded in administering 52 556 vaccines.
The latest stats show that 7 369 doses were administered to those between the ages of 12 and 17, while 29 898 doses were administered to 18- and older adults.
Gauteng is leading with 11 619 vaccines administered on Sunday, followed by Eastern Cape at 5 357 doses.
A total of 13 402 141 individuals from 18 and above are now fully vaccinated.
This is 33.4% of the country’s population.
So far, South Africa has administered a total of 23 950 956 vaccines.
