Govt task team to probe mandatory vaccinations
A government task team's opened consultations on mandatory Covid vaccination for specific activities.
"We
have a responsibility to ensure that all people in this country can work,
travel and socialise safely," said President Cyril Ramaphosa on Sunday
night.
"We have therefore been undertaking engagements with social partners and other stakeholders on introducing measures that can make vaccination a condition to access to workplaces, public events, public transports and public establishments."
During the national address, Ramaphosa described the vaccine as a powerful tool to fight coronavirus, as he kept the country on lockdown level one.
And he pleaded with those who haven't made a decision to get jabbed to please do so, as experts try to understand how the new Omicron variant spreads and affects people.

Meanwhile, the President slammed those countries that imposed travel bans on Southern African nations just hours after the variant was identified here.
"These restrictions are completely unjustified and unfairly discriminate against our country and our southern African sister countries."
