Yvonne Chaka Chaka bags top position at the International Confederation of Societies of Authors

Congratulations are in order for Yvonne Chaka Chaka, who has been appointed as one of the vice-presidents of the International Confederation of Societies of Authors and Composers (CISAC).
Yvonne Chaka Chaka is known for the tremendous work that she has been doing on the African continent and beyond.
The iconic South African singer is known for her classic hits and her humanitarian work. She is a champion for the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, TB and Malaria, the United Nations MDG Envoy for Africa, and the Goodwill Ambassador for the Roll Back Malaria Partnership.
She is also a teacher and an actor.

It is because of the wonderful work she has done as a singer, humanitarian, and activist that she has now been appointed as one of the vice-presidents of CISAC.
"Internationally-acclaimed South African singer, songwriter, actress, entrepreneur, humanitarian and teacher Yvonne Chaka Chaka has been elected as Vice President of CISAC," the federation said in a statement.
Chaka Chaka will be fighting for the rights of composers on a global scale, to ensure that they are fairly remunerated for their work.

The 'Let Me Be Free' hitmaker will be working alongside Arturo Márquez, Mexico’s leading composer.
Speaking about their appointment, CISAC Director General Gadi Oron said: “Yvonne Chaka Chaka and Arturo Márquez are outstanding, inspirational creators, and I’m delighted CISAC will be able to benefit from their energy and authority in campaigning for creators worldwide. They join us as Vice Presidents at a critical moment for CISAC’s work, with millions of creators facing loss of their livelihoods and the challenge of rebuilding their careers. We are looking forward greatly to our collaboration and their support.”
