Billboard reports that 'Something in the Way' was streamed more than three million times in America within the first four days of the movie's debut.
The song featured on the Hot Rock & Alternative Songs chart as well as the Billboard Streaming Songs chart and the Digital Song Sales chart.
'The Batman' is also doing extremely well at the box office. It has grossed over $463-million (R6.9-billion) worldwide so far.
The movie, which also stars Zoë Kravitz as Catwoman, earned the second-best opening in America since the start of the pandemic - behind 'Spiderman: No Way Home'.
Director Matt Reeves revealed in an interview that Nirvana's lead singer, Kurt Cobain, is the inspiration behind Robert Pattinson's version of Bruce Wayne.
"When I write, I listen to music, and as I was writing the first act, I put on Nirvana’s ‘Something In The Way’. That’s when it came to me that, rather than make Bruce Wayne the playboy version we’ve seen before, there’s another version who had gone through a great tragedy and become a recluse. So I started making this connection to Gus Van Sant’s Last Days, and the idea of this fictionalised version of Kurt Cobain being in this kind of decaying manor," the director told Empire.
