competition…
YouTube has launched a global competition series called, ‘Best. Cover. Ever.’, which will see aspiring singers performing songs alongside their favourite musicians.
The series, which is produced by Ryan Seacrest Productions and Endemol Shine North America, premiered this week.
Aspiring musicians submit covers of their favourite songs, and a panel of established singers then decide which performances were the best.
Two people are selected, and then flown to Los Angles to face-off for a chance to sing with their idol.
The superstar will then select which of the two performers they want to perform a duet with!
Episode one kicked off with ‘Sorry Not Sorry’ singer Demi Lovato making an appearance.
Season One will also feature Katy Perry, Jason Derulo, and Charlie Puth, who all have songs on the Coca-Cola Top 40.
Other artists making an appearance include Keith Urban, Backstreet Boys, Nicky Jam, Flo Rida, Bebe Rexha, and DNCE.
The show will be hosted by rapper Ludacris.
“It's an interesting way of bringing new talent, not only to meet their idols but also to put the spotlight on them so they can help further their career. You have the competition aspect, the music aspect, the finding a star aspect, and the people meeting their idol aspect,” he told Billboard magazine.
