Local artist Gloire exclusively launches lyric video on East Coast Radio
Updated | By Black City Records
In
an exclusive collaboration with KZN's No.1 hit music station, KZN artist Gloire Mapenzi launched the lyric video for his acclaimed debut
single, 'Signs', on East Coast Urban with Neil Green on Thursday, 11 July 2019.
'Signs' has been described as a tour de force - an evocative, lush yet deliberately understated love song designed to emotionally move you and conjure a bygone era of romance.
The song is an Old Skool homage; simultaneously a statement of intent and a song of commitment in an age of transience and impermanence, and is fast on its way to becoming a bona fide hit.
Gloire is a self-taught musician who started playing the guitar at the age of seven. In the course of his career, he has worked with local and international artists such as Miriam Webster (Hillsong Australia), Andrew Bairds (Mango Groove), Frederick (DRC), Mike D (Uganda), and Wilaine Nshonzi (DRC). His musical influences range from Hugh Masekela and Jonathan Butler to contemporaries John Legend and John Mayer.
The lyric video gives Gloire an opportunity to show off the wordplay and lyrical sensibilities of the song, as well as deliver an initial visual interpretation of the work - just before the official music video which is scheduled to premiere in a few months’ time.
Black City Records General Manager Chenee Green emphasised that both Gloire and the label are thrilled and extremely grateful for the collaboration with East Coast Radio, and the station’s phenomenal support for Gloire and his music.
“We aspire to deliver world-class and meticulously crafted popular music to local and international audiences. To have a powerhouse like East Coast Radio supporting and applauding our efforts shows us that we’re on the right path!” Green said.

'Signs' is currently playlisted on East Coast Radio, so make sure you listen out for it. The song is also readily available on digital streaming platforms such as Spotify, Deezer, Apple Music, and Google Play,
