Linkin Park frontman, Chester Bennington, killed himself two months after his close friend Chris Cornell committed suicide.
Linkin Park's lead singer Chester Bennington died on what would have been the birthday of his close friend, Chris Cornell.
Chester was found dead in his Los Angeles home on Thursday after allegedly hanging himself.
The 41-year-old's death comes two months after fellow rocker and friend, Chris Cornell, killed himself in a similar way.
Chris would have turned 53 on Thursday.
Chester, a father of six, attended the Soundgarden and Audioslave vocalist's funeral and even gave a special performance.
He sang a touching rendition of Leonard Cohen's 'Hallelujah'.
Linkin Park guitarist Brad Delson joined him for the special performance.
Chester wrote an open letter to his good friend in May, saying he wept when he found out about his death.
"I'm still weeping, with sadness, as well as gratitude for having shared some very special moments with you and your beautiful family," he wrote.
Linkin Park returned to the music scene recently, releasing a new album titled 'One More Light' in May.
The album debuted at number one on the Billboard album chart.
