Mariah Carey’s 1994 classic ‘All I Want for Christmas’ has finally reached the number one spot on the US charts.
It's been 25 years since Mariah Carey released 'All I Want For Christmas Is You', but the song remains a hit.
In 2018, it reached number three on the Billboard Hot 100.
The Christmas hit is finally getting the recognition it deserves. Billboard has revealed that 'All I Want For Christmas Is You' hit number one on the chart this week for the first time - two decades after it was first released in 1994.
The song was the lead single off Mariah's first holiday album, ‘Merry Christmas’. It was the singer's fourth studio album.
'All I Want For Chirstmas Is You' is also trending on YouTube and has over 600 million views.
Mariah says she is amazed at how the song keeps gaining popularity over the years.
"When I first made the record, it wasn't as big a hit as it is now. It's grown in popularity over the years and that's the thing that's amazing to me about this song," she said in an interview with Amazon Music.
