Report: SA's high earners split work between home and office post COVID-19 lockdown

A recent study shows that 46% of South Africans earning more than R40,000 a month prefer to rotate between working from home and the office.
The COVID-19 pandemic has changed the way we work and ushered in a new order.
Millions of people around the world were working from home to curb the spread of the virus.
With many people taking the vaccine and government finding better ways to manage the virus, a lot of companies have allowed employees to return to the office full time.
However, a new study quoted in Business Insider shows that people who earn more than R40,000 a month are choosing to rotate between working from home and the office.

Almost half of South Africa's middle-class, earning under R40,000 a month, has returned to a pre-pandemic work routine, while higher earners are enjoying hybrid work models, splitting more of their time between home and the office.- Business Insider
The study was conducted by BrandMapp, who interviewed 30,000 employees.
Director of storytelling for BrandMapp, Brandon de Kock, says employees are choosing to work from home due to the "peace and quiet" as compared to the office.
Benefits of working of home
Another study released in 2015 showed that working from home not only benefits the employees, but can help the country's economy.
Mobile workspace solutions company Citrix and the London-based Centre for Economics and Business Research (Cebr) said that remote working via the internet could boost South Africa’s economy by R17-billion annually. Read all about that report here.
