Five video games we are amped for in 2017
Updated | By Andrew Hallett
Video games are not just for nerds! Maybe it is time you gave them a try?
With the dawn of a new year comes the promise of exciting new gaming adventures for enthusiasts.
While not a hell of a lot has been officially announced or unveiled as yet, there is a handful of titles that have peaked our interest.
Here are the five games we are most looking forward to getting our hands on in 2017:
Mass Effect: Andromeda
Release date: March 2017
Platform(s): PS4, Xbox One, PC
Why are we excited? Mass Effect games have always been majorly successful, and this latest instalment is said to be the best yet. Plus this is going to be the first Mass Effect in an open world environment. So much to explore! We cannot wait!
For Honor
Release date: February 2017
Platform(s): PS4, Xbox One, PC
Why are we excited? There is something therapeutic about being able to hack and slash with swords and axes in video games. For Honor is set to take hack and slash games to the next level. We are very excited to see if the game lives up to the hype.
South Park: The Fractured But Whole
Release date: First quarter of 2017... we hope
Platform(s): PS4, Xbox One, PC
Why are we excited? Well, South Park is funny, and so are their games. What is better than laughing while playing a video game? Amped for this.
The Last of Us Part 2
Release date: At some point in 2017
Platform(s): PS4
Why are we excited? If you played the original game, you will know exactly how excited the world is for the sequel. The original was an emotionally-charged journey with two of the most likeable characters ever created. If the sequel is half as good as the original, then it is going to be a classic!
Red Dead Redemption 2
Release date: Late 2017
Platform(s): PS4, Xbox One, PC
Why are we excited? Well, Red Dead Redemption is one of the greatest games ever made, so we can only hope that the next instalment is even better - if that is possible. Also, who doesn't want to ride a horse around beautiful landscapes and hunt down bad guys? So. Much. Fun.
