The best butter chicken recipe

Butter chicken is a favourite for many Durbanites.
What makes this type of chicken curry unique is that it is full of warm spices and it has cream and butter.

According to Food24, the first person who made butter chicken was a restaurateur who had to make a plan with his left over spiced and grilled chicken because there was no refrigerator. He then mixed tomatoes, cream, spices, and butter to make a thick gravy which he added to the chicken. That is how butter chicken was born!
It is usually eaten with rice or naan in South Africa.

For the ingredients, you will need:
1kgs of Chicken fillet
Lemon
250ml / 4.5 tbs Yogurt
1 tsp Garam masala another half tsp at the end of cooking
1.5 tsp Cumin/Jeera powder
1 tsp Heaped turmeric
1 tbs of Crushed ginger & garlic
1 tbs Chilli powder
Fine salt
Oil
3 tbs Butter
1 Large onion
2 Green chillies
2 Large tomatoes
0.5 tsp Sugar
1 tbs Masala (optional)
0.5 tsp Turmeric
Salt
125g of Cashew nuts (optional)
1/4 cup of water
150ml of Cream (100ml add to your curry)
50ml Cream drizzle on your curry when you are serving with some fresh Dhania.
