Study: Classical music can release short-term stress in dogs
Updated | By Poelano Malema
This might be the perfect solution when it comes to calming your dog down.
Classical music has been proven to have several great benefits for the mind and body.
Many people listen to it when they want to relax and calm down. Interestingly, it looks like this benefit is not only for humans.
A new study has shown that dogs can also benefit from the calming effects of classical music.
Research published by academics at Queen's University in Belfast (QUB) found that classical music had a moderately-calming effect. This is especially true when they are separated from their owners.
However, the music has "little value to dogs in situations of short-term acute stress".

This is not the first research that has proven the calming effects of classical music on dogs.
Another one was done by Scottish SPCA in 2015.
The researchers found that dogs' stress-level decreased when they listened to classical music. Like the Queen's University in Belfast (QUB)'s research, they also found that this calming effect only worked for a short period of time though.
