Monday Motivation: Success never comes without being tested
Updated | By Poelano Malema
Tests and trials are a great opportunity to learn, but only if we open our minds to the lessons presented to us.
Life is a journey, and we haven’t been promised an easy ride.
Along the way we will face storms of different magnitudes, valleys and mountains, rivers, and oceans.
Sometimes when one is in their darkest season, there seems to be no way out. Especially in seasons where even the people you thought you could lean on are not available.
But the truth is that success never comes without its tests.
To move to the next grade, you need to write tests and exams. For most careers, you have to study and pass tests. To even get your Driver’s Licence, you need to learn how to drive but also be examined before you get your licence.
I’m trying to show you that we have to work and go through challenges before we get to where we want.

Those tests sometimes are there to build resilience in you.
It is when we go through the storms that we learn how to survive and the importance of being calm. It is when we go through the mountains that we learn to climb. It is when we pass through the oceans and rivers that we learn to navigate currents.
So, tests and trials are a great opportunity to learn, but only if we open our minds to the lessons presented to us.
Right now you might be going through your testing season. But rest assured that we all, in one way or another, are going to have to deal with some sort of test.
Learn from those who have gone before us. If they survived, so can you.
With the right attitude, mindset, and resilience, you will come out stronger than before!
