Smokie in SA tour postponed
Updated | By ECR
The English rock band Smokie will not be performing in South Africa later this month as had been planned. Tour organiser Lefra Productions has announced the postponement of the shows due to the coronavirus pandemic.
"In light of the recent announcement by President Cyril Ramaphosa regarding emergency measures to stop the spread of the Coronavirus-outbreak in South Africa, Lefra has decided to postpone the SMOKIE concerts that were due to be held at the end of this month at Carnival City on the East Rand, GrandWest in Cape Town, and Time Square in Pretoria in December 2020," said Frans Swart, Managing Director of Lefra Productions.
He says that the tour is only postponed and definitely not cancelled. The "Living Next Door to Alice" singers will now perform in December 2020.
- 11 December 2020 - GrandWest - Cape Town
- 12 December 2020 - Carnival City - Johannesburg
- 13 December 2020 - Sun Arena - Pretoria
"Your tickets have been automatically transferred to the venue and aligned to the seats you originally booked for. Please contact Computicket at 0861 915-8000 or visit your nearest outlet to arrange to have your tickets reissued," says Swart.
Ticketholders are requested to visit www.smokie.co.za for more information.
