East Coast Gold remembers Johnny Clegg with his classic hits.
South African music legend, Johnny Clegg, popularly called 'The White Zulu', continues to have a special place in our hearts.
His role in uniting different races in South Africa using his anti-apartheid music can never be forgotten.
Clegg's ability to unite people even earned him an Honourary Doctorate in Music from the University of KwaZulu-Natal in 2013.
The legendary artist died in 2019 at the age of 66 after being diagnosed with pancreatic cancer.

Before passing away, he performed all over the world for almost four decades.
He sold more than five-million albums, and earned a slate of international awards. In 2012, the South African government awarded him the Order of Ikhamang (Silver).
One of his memorable and prominent songs is 'Asimbonanga'. The song was released during the time Nelson Mandela was still in prison. The song was well received in France, where it reached number one on the single's chart. He even received the Knight of the Order of Arts and Letters (Chevalier dans l’Ordre des Arts et des Lettres) in 1991 from the French government.
East Coast Gold will be honouring this legendary artist on Tuesday, 7 July, on what would have been his 69th birthday.
