Paul Simon on what he is most proud of in his musical career

Paul Simon is one of the most famous musicians of our time.
The rock legend has recorded countless hits over a career that’s spanned more than half a century. He is one of the few musicians that has had continued success from the 1950s until today.
The superstar's music has touched all of us in one way or another.
Simon’s songs such as ‘Bridge Over Troubled Water’, ‘Mrs. Robinson’, ‘Run That Body Down’, and ‘The Sound of Silence’ bring back memories, especially for the older generation.
He has 19 studio albums and has won 16 Grammy Awards.
He is also a two-time inductee into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
Simon announced in 2018 that he was retiring from the music industry.

Despite all the success that Simon has achieved, he says he is most proud of being able to remain humble amid all the fame.
When asked by TODAY’s Craig Melvin about what he is proudest of professionally, the legend said: “Not the awards. I’d say that now that’s I’ve reached this advance stage, that the more you get your ego out of it the clearer you sing."
“You can’t help it when you are in a business that rewards people with fame. Fame is a toxic thing because it’s elusive,” he added.
The star, who was born on 13 October 1941, turns 79 today.
