Scottish singer, songwriter, and guitarist Donovan Leitch was born on 10 May 1946 at Maryhill, Glasgow, United Kingdom.
He rose to fame in the 1960s with songs like ‘Catch the Wind’, ‘Mellow Yellow’, and ‘Colours’.

- Donovan was the tutor of The Beatles.
- His first song, ‘Catch the Wind’, won him the The Ivor Novello Award.
- Donovan received a Doctor of Letters for Ecology from Hertfordshire University.

- He was inducted into the The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2012 and the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2014.
