WATCH: News anchor takes offence to being corrected for pronunciation

Things got heated in studio between the anchor and his guest.
On Wednesday, 12 August, ECR newswatch reported that USA Presidential hopeful Joe Biden named Senator Kamala Harris (a former rival in the White House race) as his running mate, marking an historic first for American women of colour.
This story made headlines worldwide and when Tucker Carlson was talking about Harris with guest Richard Goodstein, Goodstein intervened to correct him on how to pronounce her name.

"This is something that will serve you and your fellow hosts on Fox. Her name is pronounced ‘comma’ ― like the punctuation mark ― ‘-la’… Kamala,” Goodstein said.
“Okay. So what!” Carlson asked in response.
"I think out of respect for somebody who’s going to be on the national ticket, pronouncing her name right, it’s kind of a bare minimum,” Goodstein countered.

Not taking kindly to Goodstein's words, Carlson defended himself and refused to change his pronunciation of 'Kamala'.

Social media slammed Carlson for being disrespectful and claimed he intentionally mispronounced Kamala's name.

Says "unintentionally mispronounced her name" and then intentionally mispronounces it twice in a row.

And says that she’s not immune to criticism... so he is trying to criticize her... by mispronouncing her name? To make a point?

Tucker says he's doing it unintentionally, yet doesn't care to hear the correct way and proceeds to fuck it up several more times. That's where the disrespect comes. He can't even give an ounce of effort to learn the right way to say someone's name.

Tucker is bad at journalism.
