On Wednesday, the brand new month saw the start of something truly special for East Coast Radio.
We celebrated the launch of an iconic new podcast, ‘African Story Magic’, with the award-winning Dr Gcina Mhlophe.

Darren and Sky officially welcomed Dr Mhlophe to the East Coast Radio family on the Breakfast show.
On the show, Darren and Sky spoke to the iconic storyteller about her journey, as well as how we can ensure that the next generation continues the telling of stories.

Here is the moment when the ECR Breakfast team welcomed the living legend that is Mam' Gcina:
Mam' Gcina, as she is known by many, went on to talk about her first episode of the podcast and how it's something she has been dreaming about for some time now.
She is one of the very few female storytellers in South Africa.

Episode one entitled, ‘Mazanendaba Searches for Stories’, is out now.
To give some background on the first episode, the story of Mazanendaba is that of a woman who went to the bottom of the ocean to find stories from the spirit people.
She returned with a whole treasure chest of tales and that is precisely what we wish to share with our audience through this podcast series.
