According to The South African website,  the airline announced that it will offer flights to Durban from October.

The airline is the brainchild of Uber South Africa’s Jonathan Ayache and Gidon Novick from Comair’s low-cost carrier, Kulula. It was launched less than two years ago.

The airline operates on a low-cost model.

It was launched during the COVID-19 pandemic with only one route.

LIFT has operated flights on the Johannesburg-to-Cape Town route.

The airline is now expanding its horizons all the way to KwaZulu Natal.

The shortage of capacity in South Africa as well as flights becoming expensive resulted in LIFT stepping in to fill the gap on the Johannesburg-to-Durban route.

The collapse of Comair, which operates British Airways as well as Kulula, had removed around 40% of the seats offered in the domestic market since June.

LIFT will start up these flights between Johannesburg and Durban on 26 October.
