Simba potato chip heist worth R1.2m flops thanks to Ekurhuleni cops

A truck containing Simba chips was hijacked.
According to Ignatius Maphike, who is the spokesperson for Ekurhuleni Metro Police Department (EMPD), the suspect has been apprehended.
"On Tuesday 14 March 2023 at 9.50am, members of the Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Police Department (EMPD) specialised task team intercepted a 36-year-old male suspect, found with R1.2 million worth of goods on Putfontein," revealed Ignatius.
The police received information from a tracking company about a Isuzu truck that was allegedly hijacked in the Elandsfontein area.
They immediately acted on the information and proceeded to the location.

Once the culprit was caught, the police tried to communicate with the criminal, but found out that he couldn't give suitable answers.
The premises where the culprit was from was thoroughly searched and additional boxes were uncovered. The handcuffed suspect alleges that the items found were given to him by two unknown guys.
The police uncovered loot worth R1.2-million. The chips has since been returned to their rightful owner.
