The National Council of SPCAs (NSPCA) has come out in support of the Sizwe Kupelo Foundation, which started a petition to ban pit bulls as domestic animals in South Africa following a spate of attacks on people and dogs.

The sight of a half-naked man hanging out of a window at the Butterworth Hotel aka Butty’s caused a stir in the Durban CBD recently. The video was posted on Facebook this week by Sindlo on Digital, a content curator from KwaZulu-Natal.

Elton Jantjies will not be part of the Springbok squad that will travel to Europe for four Tests in November, casting further doubt over his international future. Dietician Zeenat Simjee will be back with the team.

Employees dressed as Power Rangers at a new restaurant in the East Bay sprang into action and became real superheroes by saving a woman who was being attacked. The whole incident was documented in a now-viral series of Tweets by a woman who was having dinner.

JSE-listed residential property developer Calgro M3 is pulling out of two projects in KZN - Bridge City and Umhlanga Hills. This is due to groups of armed people invading construction sites demanding a percentage of the construction contract and that construction companies employ certain people linked to them. Calgro M3 said it was impossible to do business in KZN.
