1. 

Eskom plans to apply for a 32% tariff increase from 1 April 2023/24. The tariff application is under consideration by Nersa, which must make a final decision by Christmas Eve.

The queen is currently lying-in-state before she's moved before her state funeral on Monday, 19 September. A royal guard collapsed next to Queen Elizabeth II's coffin this week. After the guard collapsed, BBC suspended their live streaming of Westminster Hall. It is unknown whether or not the guard suffered any injuries.

Roger Federer has announced that he will retire from official competition at the age of 41 following the Laver Cup next week in London. The Swiss legend has endured a difficult few years, having been out of action since Wimbledon in 2021 after going through triple knee surgery during his time off.

A Chinese influencer has responded to backlash around a video of him appearing to kill a wasp live on camera, saying he wants to "start over" and post "positive videos" on social media following the controversy.

5. 

The French railway company and train manufacturer Alstom have unveiled the first completed TGV M, a next-generation high-speed double-decker train. The design improves TGV's current energy efficiency and carbon footprint, with 97% of the train's components now recyclable.
