Actor Will Smith has resigned from Hollywood's Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, saying that his slapping of presenter Chris Rock on stage at this year's Oscars ceremony was “shocking, painful, and inexcusable.”

Transport minister Fikile Mbalula has changed the grace period for expired driving licenses to once again apply only for cards that lapsed before 31 August 2021. The grace period for expired cards has been extended from 31 March to 15 April 2022.
