Validity extended for licences expired during lockdown

Drivers and learners whose licences have expired during the coronavirus lockdown have been given a reprieve.
Transport Minister, Fikile Mbalula says licences that expired between the 26th of March and 31st of May, will still be valid for 90 days from the 1st of June.
The Minister's amended the regulations governing the validity of licences under the lockdown.
They apply to motor vehicle licence disks as well.

"Learners licences, drivers licences, temporary drivers licences, motor vehicle licence disc, temporary permits, roadworthy certificates and professional driving permits that expired during the period that commenced from 26th of March 2020 up to and including 31st of May," he added.
Mbalula addressed the media in Centurion this morning.
He says diving licence testing centres, registering authorities, vehicle testing stations and driving schools will be allowed to resume their services from the 1st of June.
They must adhere to COVID-19 guidelines in the workplace.
They'll need to intensify hygiene practices and keep up social distancing.
