Dua Lipa praises 'brave' LGBTQ fans after concert drama
"I will stand by you all for your love and beliefs and I am proud and grateful that you felt safe enough to show your pride at my show," says Dua Lipa.
Dua Lipa says she is proud of the "brave" fans who were ejected from her show in Shanghai, China for waving LGBTQ flags.
The 'IDGAF' singer was in the country for the Asian leg of her 'The Self-Titled Tour'.
Videos shared on social media showed several fans being pulled out of their seats by venue security officials.
Concertgoers were also not allowed to stand up during Dua's performance.

"I just CANT believe it. This is the show of Dua Lipa in Shanghai. All the fans are forbidden to stand out and could only sit on to see the show?!? If you don’t, the guard would use violence to kick u out. It’s unbelievable...#dualipa," one Twitter use captioned a video from the show.

The fans seen in the video were allegedly waving pro-gay flags before they were forcibly removed.
Another video shows a tearful Dua addressing the audience after the incident: "I want to create a really safe environment for us all to have fun. I want us all to dance. I want us all to sing. I just want us all to have a really good time."
Dua took to Instagram to share a special message after the show.
'Last night I did it for my fans. A promised show. I stood by them, sang with them and danced with them. I will stand by you all for your love and beliefs and I am proud and grateful that you felt safe enough to show your pride at my show," she wrote.
Dua added she was horrified by what she witnessed.
"What you did takes a lot of bravery. I always want my music to bring strength, hope and unity. I was horrified by what happened and I send love to all my fans involved. I would love to come back for my fans when the time is right and hopefully see a room full of rainbows. I love you Shanghai."
Dua's hit song with Calvin Harris, 'One Kiss' is currently at number five on the Coca-Cola Top 40.
