Duran Krummeck is climbing the ladder in the sports industry

After multiple rejections, success is finally knocking on Duran's door...
Duran Krummeck had a big dream to play rugby from the age of four and when he finally went to high school, he was extremely disappointed when he didn't make the rugby team.
After high school, he made the team for the Sharks U19 squad where he had the opportunity to play against the Cheetahs in Bloemfontein.
At just 19 years old, his passion led him to make a huge move to relocate to Northern Ireland where he was intensely trained at night for six months and he states that he ''grew tremendously as a person during those six months".
After giving up on his rugby dream, Duran's father was able to convince him to get his head back in the game and give rugby another chance.
After the great deal of encouragement from his father, Duran took a leap of faith and contacted the Irish Men's National 7s coach, which resulted in Duran progressing to three months of trials and eventually landing a contract with the Ireland Men's 7s Team.
Sadly, COVID-19 hit the world, putting a pause on many goals and Duran was faced with the sad, untimely passing of his grandfather, as well as being isolated in Ireland without his family by his side.

Then, the travel ban was lifted and the team was able to begin touring again.
After joining the Currie Cup squad and showcasing his great talents in sports by playing for Swifty Rugby in Dubai where he was spotted and given the opportunity to join the Blitzbok training camp, Duran's passion for the sport started coming back at full speed.
However, in January 2023 he decided to give rugby a break and pursue his career at a brokerage in Umhlanga.
Duran's passion and talent led him to be the first signing at Swifty Sevens and was selected to represent South Africa at the World Sevens Circuit and is now moving to Stellenbosch to pursue this dream with the incredible support of his wife and family members.
