These events have made a mockery of fight against COVID-19
Last week it was officially declared that South Africa is facing its second wave of COVID-19, but this news doesn't seem to be putting a stop to the SA's partying.
South Africans across the country were up in arms when they found out that the Ballito Rage event not only continued during this pandemic, but that it also led to a large number of infections.

But it seems like the raging teenagers, events organisers and parents aren't solely responsible for the increased number of COVID-19 cases.
Over the weekend, patrons at a lounge in Durban were not paying any attention to social distancing rules or any other COVID-19 regulations like wearing masks and refraining from making physical contact.

Although it might seem like most South Africans are not adhering to lockdown rules and other coronavirus-protocols, many users since tweeted and tagged President Cyril Ramaphosa and the Minister of Health, hoping to get their attention.
But these types of issues are not just limited to Durban or KZN.

Across the country, footage has been making its way around the social media platforms, exposing these events that could have super-spreader consequences, and their disregard for COVID-19 safety.

Gone are the days where everyone seemed to be on the same page, just a few months ago, when they were staying safe and using the correct coronavirus protocols in the hopes that December and the summer might be saved.
After the effects of Rage and these ongoing events, we might have to keep our fingers and toes crossed that the President isn't going to get too mad at the family meeting.
