"Can I borrow your wedding dress to marry your ex husband..."

OMG, what in the world is this, a scene out of a reality show?
Families can be difficult to deal with at times, but then add in the dynamics of a blended family and you'll count your blessings. The drama can go from zero to one hundred in under 20 seconds. But not all scenarios have the drama...
Well, at least not at first when it came to this woman's story. She shared her story on Reddit about her ex-husband and his new girlfriend and what started off hopeful turned sour way before the expiry date...
A woman shared her story about being divorced from her ex for three years. He has a girlfriend who he has been dating for around 10 months, and who she gets along well with. She still has a relationship with her ex because they have a five-year-old son together.
In the story, she refers to her ex as 'K' and his girlfriend as 'G'.
"K and I have a great relationship with each other. We still love each other as friends. K started dating G about 10 months ago. G and I have become really great friends and enjoy being around each other." (Reddit)
Things took a turn recently when G and K started talking about marriage. She admits that she knows that K has been hesitant but G really wants to get married and have her own kids. But wait, that's not the worst part...
"I guess G saw some old pictures of me in my wedding dress and has been raving about how pretty my dress is. The other day we had coffee together and G brought up getting married soon. I told her how I happy I was for her. Things changed though when she asked if she could wear MY wedding dress." (Reddit)
Uh, sorry you want to wear my what? In which world is it okay to ask someone to borrow their wedding dress, the same wedding dress they wore whilst getting married to their ex who is now your current? There should be a law against this in the blended family rulebook.

Of course this would put a spanner in the works when it comes to the relationship between G and the ex-wife... As you may have noticed, we think that G has some nerve to even think of asking that of the ex-wife.
Like, seriously, if you want to start off your own family then start fresh, get your own dress, or has it been about proving something to the ex-wife? It's all very dramatic if you ask us, this is where the soapie writers find inspiration from...
I was really shocked she even asked. I immediately told her that I was flattered, but no. She immediately got extremely pouty and started to ask why. I explained that I just wasn’t comfortable with her wearing my dress to marry my ex husband. She got really upset and started to cause a scene. I walked out knowing that she was not going to calm down. About an hour later my ex husband called asking what happened. When I told him, he completely understood and was on my side, but it didn’t end there. G has been having her friends and family call me and my work calling me an asshole for not “sharing".- The Ex-wife
What are your thoughts about G's request, do you think it is at all reasonable for her to ask the ex-wife for her wedding dress? More than that, do you think that K needs to step in and handle this situation?
In the end, G has now claimed that the ex-wife is not over K and wants to ruin her wedding. The whole situation has strained the relationship between the exes and has also impacted their relationship around their son.
"Part of me feels like I should give in, but I still just don’t feel comfortable with it. So, am I the asshole for not letting her wear my dress?" (Reddit) Many people agree with our earlier sentiment that K needs to step up and handle things. Let the drama end there for now, don't forget to let us know what you think below...
