Jane shares her favourite holiday memory from childhood

At this part of the year , we all reminisce about the year's events and it also stirs up a sense of nostalgia as we remember what the festivities were like as children.
This part of the year fills me up with such joy. Watching the lights go up in the Durban CBD and putting up my own decorations, there just seems to be a sense of excitement in the air?

Whenever I think of holidays as a kid I always remember the excitement around the annual pantomime. Without fail, every single December holiday my grandparents would take me to the Playhouse to watch a show. There is just something about watching a live production, just watching the actors gave me goosebumps and still does.

If you haven't had the chance to watch one yet, I encourage you all to watch just one play in your lifetime, it's life-changing!
I can remember the look, smell, and feel of the program. The stark sky above and the thick velvet curtain hanging suspended with hope and expectation.

This holiday, 'Sinbad' is showing at the Sneddon Theatre until 7 January. I have already taken the kids and boy did they have a blast.
From dressing up before the event (they went all out without my help) to getting there and watching the show. I was in awe at the way their little faces lit up as they watched the show. Basically, I relived my youth with them!
