How would you deal with finding cash lying around?

Everyone loves a bit of free money, but in this instance, there's a possibility that you may end up divided by which route to take.
Over the weekend, while having a drink at a bar to celebrate the Liberty Radio Awards, Mags from East Coast Drive and I spotted R300 cash just lying on the floor outside.

We both looked at each other, then at the orange and blue note. Mags then asked a guy standing near her if it was his, and he awkwardly swiftly said that it was his. Only he knows if it was his money.
If it wasn't mine, and I took it, I would be nervous about the karma, as I totally believe in the karmic cycle. In saying that, if there was no one around, would you hand it to the barman with a clear conscience?
