Getting to know founder of 'Good Things Guy'

With the aim of spreading positive news about South Africa, 'Good Things Guy' Brent Lindeque is doing just that and has been going strong for three years.

Brent Lindeque chats to Jane about 'Good Things Guy,' his vision for the platform, and how he wants to share local and international good news stories.

The online good news site was created in August 2015 to only promote good news, inspirational stories, and promote positive, upbeat media. With an impressive social media following and one-million readers a month, I would say they have cooked up the right recipe.

The site wants to share stories from people, by people, and it's clear that the masses love it. Brent Lindeque is a man that wanted to spread goodness, by giving a homeless man a R20 meal, and using the power of social media to “pay-it-forward”. His nomination went viral. This nomination saw him become a LeadSA Hero.

He was also selected as one of Africa’s most promising entrepreneurs and chosen as one of the prestigious Mail & Guardian Top 200 Young South Africans.

His act of kindness has culminated in three dedicated feeding schemes in Canada, the USA, and Ireland that are still running to this day.

Lindeque believes: Be strong but not rude. Be kind but not weak. Be humble but not timid. Be proud but not arrogant. Always look for the good things.

If there's one thing I want more for this world, it is the spreading of kindness and Lindeque does just that. Every day we are inundated with bad news, so it is nice to have someone who wants to celebrate the good in the world. For me, positivity is key.

I am so proud of your work, Brent. You are more than amazing. Keep it up x
