WATCH: A terrifying PSA for parents with infants
A horrifying video shared online has revealed the dangers of putting things in a baby's cot.
In the video that was shared by TikTok account Safesleepabc, the moment an infant pulls what is considered to be a comfort blanket over their face is captured - and they begin to suffocate!
The TikTok account focuses on educational videos on safe sleep for babies under 12 months.
The distressing footage sees the the baby visibly struggling, unable to remove the blanket from their face as it blocks their airways.
Safesleepabc captioned the video with the following:
Do not leave ANYTHING in your baby’s sleep space. Thankfully this baby’s parents got there in time
As sad as it is to say, though, some parents may not be as lucky in rescuing their babies. The shocking video left many parents seriously shaken, with agreement that they felt “sick” after seeing the footage.

The Lullaby Trust, which raises awareness of sudden infant death syndrome, recommends parents avoid using cot bumpers or leaving toys in a cot, saying a simple mattress in the cot with no loose bedding or bumpers is the safest sleeping place for a baby.
The trust further goes on to state the following:
To reduce the risk of cot death or sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS), babies should always be put to sleep on their backs. Parents have also been urged to avoid placing canopies over cots for the very same reason.

J Sbu was alarmed and emotionally charged after viewing this video. As someone who has dealt with the loss of a child, he could not imagine any parent having to lose their child under these circumstances.
