First look at Jennifer Hudson as Aretha Franklin

The beautiful Jennifer Hudson will be gracing our screens yet again in a very important role.
The biopic of the legendary 'Queen of Soul', the late Aretha Franklin, has been in the works for some time and with each passing month, we are teased with some footage.

The latest trailer for RESPECT was debuted at this year's virtual BET Awards.
The film focuses on Franklin's youth, her journey to stardom, and her involvement in the civil rights movement.
Jennifer Hudson will play Aretha and other cast members include Forest Whitaker, Audra McDonald, Marlon Wayans, and Tituss Burgess.
The movie is also directed by South African born Liesl Tommy. Tommy is a well-known theatre and television director in the US, and was the first woman of colour to be nominated for a Tony Award for Best Director for the Broadway production, "Eclipsed".
