Adele breaks first week sales record
Updated | By Bongani Mtolo
The singer just cannot seem to stop winning right now.
After much speculation the first sales numbers Adele’s third album are in and they are great.
According to Nielsen Music, The British hit-maker has sold 2,433,000 copies.
This means she has beat out NSYNC’S record for most albums sold in a week.
The boy band held the record having sold 2,416,000 units of No strings attached.
What is even more amazing about Adele’s achievement is that she is bucking the trend of sales declines and her album is not available on streaming services like Spotify and Apple music.
There are still three full days before the official seven days of release is over and 25 is on course to sell almost 3 million units.
I guess it’s true what they say, only real music is going to last.
