We all love the variety that Durban offers in terms of activities and things to do during the festive. If it is not Suncoast, it is the multiple beaches and plenty mountain hikes.
But it can be overwhelming because there is just so much to do.

We share five of the best sites to check out while you are in our neighborhood.
Mnini Dam
Mnini Dam is set in the scenic uMgababa. It offers two magical sites for picnics, canoeing, fishing and birding, hiking and MTB trails, guests can spend the day immersed in all things adventure.
The tourism sites to visit is Thulas’ Adventures, which also hosts pop-up camps, and you enjoy guided nature and birding hikes, as well as cycle tours.
Meanwhile, the Mnini Dam Tourist Resort offers picnics, boat launching, fishing, birding and hiking.

eNanda Adventure Park
eNanda Adventure Park on the Inanda Dam offers a range of activities for travellers. You will enjoy picnics, adrenaline-inducing pump bike track, guided mountain biking, birding excursions, hiking trails and canoeing.
There's also a shaded lawn that overlooks the dam where you can launch canoes to explore the waterways.
If you feel like staying over, there's also camping and cabins!

Mqeku picnic site
This is definitely Durban's best-kept secret!
This intimate destination is set in the Valley of 1000 Hills, the Mqeku picnic site has a ‘bum-slide’ on its river.
The crazy, fun slide ends in a serenely calm pool where you can float on a tube. Also enjoy walking trails, braai and camping.

Isithumba
Isithumba in the Valley of 1000 Hills is fully kitted out with accommodation, hiking, MTB and cultural tours.
You will go on tours with guides that have knowledge and storytelling skills about the culture, rituals and customs of the Zulu people as you tour this quintessential rural Zulu village.

KZN Crocworld
If you want to do a walkabout looking at animals, this is that place!
Stroll through their beautifully-landscaped gardens - they have a variety of indigenous and endemic vegetation.
Crocworld is the place where everyone can immerse themselves in- and reconnect with nature, on KwaZulu-Natal’s spectacular South Coast.
You can also go see the oldest crocodile, Henry, who just recently celebrated his birthday!
