WATCH: Cute video of mother gorilla showing off her baby at zoo

Doting over her young reminded us how connected we all are as living beings...
A mother gorilla has been garnering attention online recently as she showed off her baby at the Calgary Zoo.
Now when we think of gorillas, we certainly do not think of them being soft and playful.
Perhaps it is the media that have painted them in a harsh manner, with the likes of movies such as 'Tarzan', 'King Kong', and 'Congo'.
But the truth is that this population is quite a gentle one.
With the gorilla population decreasing by 80% over the past three decades, due to poaching and the destruction of their habitat, it is amazing to see the love they share with their families.
This is why this video that was posted last week on Viral Hog and on Pubity has gained such a positive response from social media users.
"The video shows the mom grabbing her baby's arms and lifting it in the air before cradling it and kissing the new gorilla's forehead, melting the hearts of visitors who witnessed the moment." (Daily Mail)
It has gained over 570,000 likes and over 2,500 comments - most of which share that they are so in love with this beautiful moment. It was the little kisses on the baby's forehead that sealed the moment for us...
We certainly feel like it is just the sort of affection that we needed to start the week off, not to mention the month of women...
