Ali: Amla had to deal with ‘rapid’ bouncer
England all-rounder, Moeen Ali says he was surprised to see Hashim Amla return to the middle after he was struck by a Jofra Archer bouncer in the fourth over.
Amla was hit on the grille and retired hurt but after multiple concussion tests was passed fit to bat again.
Ali was fielding at fine-leg at the time and had a good view of the incident.
“It was a rapid delivery. That particular delivery was very fast,” Ali said.
“You always a bit worried for the person and it was a very quick delivery. You have to feel for the batsman. I was a bit surprised that he came back out, we hope that he is okay and is fit to play in the rest of the tournament.”

“Archer unsettles players, and no one wants to face him,” Ali added.
Despite beating South Africa by 104 runs, Ali believes Ottis Gibson’s side will improve as the tournament progresses.
“I thought they did alright, they held us for as long as they did, I think we had a couple of important partnerships. We batted really well, I actually thought they bowled quite well,” Ali concluded.
