A KwaZulu-Natal man who found his wife lying dead in their home this week says he is still in a state of disbelief.
Jonathan Shunmugam says his 63-year-old wife, Dolly had been stabbed and bludgeoned to death in the lounge of their Northdene home, near Queensburgh.
"When I discovered my wife lying on the floor, they had brutally attacked her with a sharp object," Shunmugam said.
He was called home from work by his son-in-law who found the front door unlocked. He says the robbers also stole some valuables.

"They removed the safe from my bedroom and they must have been repeatedly asking where the key was. My wife didn't even know where the safe key was," Shunmugam said.
Police spokesperson, Nqobile Gwala says officers are investigating a case of house robbery and murder.
"We are also appealing to anyone who might have information about the suspects to contact the local police or our crime stop number on 08600 10 111," Gwala said.
