Van Reenen's Pass violence 'coordinated attack' on trucking

Association says it believes the arson attack on trucks on the N3
qwas a coordinated attack on the road freight sector.
It’s understood that a group of armed suspects stopped six trucks near Van Reenens Pass.
The drivers were forced out of their vehicles, and the trucks were set alight.
The highway was also closed for several hours.
The association's Gavin Kelly says criminal acts aimed at the trucking sector cannot continue.
Kelly says it will lead to businesses closing and will affect the economy.

"Nothing was stolen so this wasn't a common scheme of looting or theft. The question must be asked as to who is behind this, the department of labour needs to deal with those who are non-compliant in terms of labour laws."
Detectives are investigating a case of malicious damage to property.
