Teen drowns on KZN south coast

Authorities are investigating the circumstances leading to a drowning incident on the south coast yesterday.

A 15-year-old girl drowned at St Michaels beach, north of Margate at around 6.20pm last night.

The National Sea Rescue Institute was called to assist police Search and Rescue and other emergency services already at the beach.
When they arrived, NSRI swimmers found that the girl had already been pulled from the water.
Despite all efforts, she died at the scene.
