Police seek suspected Durban hit and run driver
Durban North police are looking for an alleged hit and run driver, after a pedestrian was struck on the M4 near Virginia airport yesterday.
The victim, belived to be in his thirties, is fighting for his life in a local hospital.
Crisis Medical's Kyle van Reenen says the victim was found lying on the side of the road with very serious injuries and is in ICU.
"Advanced life support intervention was needed to stabilise the man before he was placed on a mechanical ventilator to assist him with breathing.
"Following that he was placed on a specialised stretcher for suspected neck and spine injury. He was then transported rapidly to the nearest hospital for the urgent medical attention he required," he said.
