LISTEN: eThekwini council sitting descends in to chaos
Updated | By Gcinokuhle Malinga
The eThekwini Municipality is investigating security breaches at its inaugural council sitting that forced members to adjourn the meeting prematurely.

Office bearers were supposed to be elected at the city's first council meeting at the Moses Mabhida Stadium on Monday after the November polls.
But only the ANC's Thabani Nyawose was voted in as Speaker after a drama-filled afternoon that concluded with a power failure at the Durban venue.

Disruptions rocked the sitting when tables and chairs were capsized as individuals and some party members exited the tent.
The sitting, which is supposed to elect a new mayor, is set to continue on Wednesday.
