Level 6 rain warning issued for most of KZN

Disaster management teams have been placed on high alert
across KZN following a level 6 warning for disruptive rainfall over most parts
of the province.

The KZN Department of Cooperative Governance says localised flooding can be expected in formal and informal areas.
It has urged motorists to exercise caution on the roads.
eThekwini, uMgungundlovu, Harry Gwala, and Ilembe are expected to be severely affected.

"The residents, especially those in low-lying areas, are advised to locate to safer places," says the department's Sboniso Mngadi.
"We also appeal to all residents to closely monitor the situation and take all precautionary measures. Those with livestock are also advised to find a secure location."
