At least one aqueduct repaired before Christmas - Umgeni Wat
Umgeni Water says one of the flood-damaged aqueducts that sends raw water from Nagle Dam to the Durban Heights Water Treatment Plant should be operational before Christmas.
It says the contractor is on-site to begin repairs to the two pipelines.
Chairperson of the utility's board Gabsie Mathenjwa explains how they're going to go about it.

"There are two aqueducts, so on the 22nd of December 2022 we will be commissioning aqueduct 1 and in June 2023, we will commissioning aqueduct 2."
eThekwini says it could be up to a year to complete the work.
Over the period of the repairs, there'll be water rationing in parts of Durban.
Mathenjwa says a contractor has also been appointed to fix Reservoir 3 at the plant but adds the damage was not due to floods.

"The inner lining has been done. We also spoke about the top of the reservoir that was done. What was left now is the lining at the bottom. Now, for us to fill up the reservoir, we needed to line the bottom.
"The reason we couldn't do it was because we had a code challenge of which has been successfully resolved."
This will create 340 additional litres of storage space at the Durban Heights site coming back in December.
