A scholar transporters
association in KwaZulu-Natal has called for drivers to be tested daily before
they get behind the wheel.

It comes after a pupilwas killed and several others injured in a crash on the north coast this week.
It is understood the minibus they were travelling in rolled down an embankment in Ndwedwe.
There have been allegations that the driver was intoxicated at the time.

KwaZulu-Natal Transport has launched a probe into the claims.
Sihle Magubane, from the South Africa Scholar Transporters Association in KwaZulu-Natal, says the law must take its course, and has called for the sector to be regulated.
"We also have a major concern when it comes to our industry because we have been pleading to the Department of Transport to regulate us so that we can monitor and do our job properly. All these matters they should have been addressed accordingly, if our sector has been regulated."
