KwaDukuza man behind bars after hammer attack
A KwaDukuza man has spent his first night in police custody after allegedly trying to kill a woman in an apparent domestic dispute.
Police say the woman was assaulted with a hammer on Tuesday.
She suffered serious injuries.
KZN SAPS spokesperson Robert Netshiunda says the community went after the suspect before police intervened.

"She sustained head injuries and was conveyed to a nearby hospital for medical attention. The incident occurred on 15 July 2025 on King Shaka Street.
"The suspect was allegedly assaulted by community embers, and he was also conveyed to a nearby hospital for medical attention."
