Former deputy president David Mabuza dies

Former deputy president David Mabuza has passed away.

He was 64.
It's understood that Mabuza passed away in a Gauteng hospital on Thursday.
He served as deputy president from 2018 until February 2023.
Mabuza also served as the premier of Mpumalanga from 2009 to 2018.
ANC secretary general Fikile Mbalula posted a statement on his social media account stating that Mabuza dedicated his life to serving the people of South Africa.
He hailed him as a committed cadre who carried the values of unity, discipline, and transformation from the days of apartheid.
The ANC said they've lost a freedom fighter and a leader who served with humility and conviction.
It is with deep sorrow and a heavy heart that we learn of the passing of former Deputy President of the Republic and stalwart of our movement, Comrade David Dabede Mabuza.
